Incident: Pedestrian Fatality

Location: Intersection of Houston Lake Road and Esplanade Drive
At approximately 10:33PM, October 13, 2014, officers responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic accident at the intersection of Houston Lake Road and Esplanade Drive.
62-year old Jerry Chambers was headed northbound on Houston Lake Road in a 1997 Honda Civic when he struck 77-year old Richard King.
King was attempting to cross Houston Lake Road in an unlit area of the roadway, outside of a crosswalk, when he was struck by Chambers’ vehicle. King was transported to the Houston Medical Center, and later died as a result of his injuries.
No charges have been filed at this time.
