WRPD Issues Public Alert in Strand of Overdoses

Release date: August 22, 2017

Incident: Public Alert: Strand of Possible Overdoses

A Public Alert has been issued by the Warner Robins Police Department. At this time officers are investigating at least 7 overdoses in Houston County in the past 48 hours. At this time officers believe a strand of tainted Percocet is the cause of several overdoses that have left patients on ventilators. This pill is different than previous reports of the fake drug. This pill is described as white in color, and looks very similar to real Percocet except it is thicker and glossier.

Patients were found unresponsive and barely breathing when emergency officials arrived. At this time we believe the fake Percocet pills are obtained on the street and urge the public to stop engaging in the purchase, selling or ingesting of this dangerous drug.

So far the patients are between the ages of 25-60.

If anyone has any information pertaining to this dangerous fake drug please contact the Warner Robins Police Department at 478-302-5380 or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
