Release date: December 28, 2017

Incident: Fatal Traffic Accident

Date/Time: December 27, 2017/ approximately 2:57PM

Location:Russell Parkway at Tharpe Road

At approximately 2:57PM on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 officers responded to a serious injury collision at the intersection of Russell Parkway and Tharpe Road. The westbound lanes of Russell Parkway were shut down for an extended period of time for the investigation and to clear the roadway of the collision.

So far our investigation reveals a 2008 Chevy Colorado driven by 86 year old Frank Henley was southbound on Tharpe Road when it pulled out in front of a 1997 Ford Econoline van driven by 50 year old Elvis Bryant. There were four passengers in the van at the time, and the vehicle was traveling westbound on Russell Parkway at the time of the collision. Those in the van sustained minor injuries.

Both occupants in the Chevy Colorado were not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. Both the driver and passenger in the Chevy Colorado suffered head injuries and were transported to The Medical Center Navicent Health. 90 year old Lottie Floyd, the passenger in the Chevy Colorado, passed away from her injuries at the hospital several hours later. Mr. Henley is still in the hospital.

At this time no charges have been filed, the incident is still under investigation. Officer Christopher Fussell with the Warner Robins Police Department Traffic Unit is investigating this incident.
