Officers Investigate Homicide at Foxwood Apartments

On Thursday,  December 27, 2018 at approximately 5:47AM officers responded to an apartment at 1436 Watson Boulevard in reference to a Domestic Dispute.  

When officers arrived they found 25 year old Shaneka Renee Smith with a knife. Officers ordered the suspect to drop the knife when she lunged at 31 year old Monis Traci Howard-Roberts. Officers then deployed a taser.

Officers rendered aid to Roberts until EMS arrived. She sustained two stab wounds to the upper chest, which severed an artery. She was transported to the hospital where she died of her injuries. 

The suspect was arrested and charged with Murder. She was just released from jail on December 26, 2018 on Battery and Obstruction charges. 

There is a history of violence between the two involved.
