Legislation has changed yet again regarding when it is legal to pass a stopped school bus.
Here's what you need to know:
1) When a school bus is stopped on a two lane road, vehicles in BOTH directions MUST STOP.
2) When a school bus is stopped on a MULTI-LANE road that has a center turn lane BOTH directions MUST STOP. (This had been changed last year, but legislators reversed their decision this year).
3) When a school bus is stopped on a DIVIDED HIGHWAY (with a dirt, grass or barrier median) vehicles behind the bus must stop. Vehicles traveling in the opposite direction must use caution.
