A Card Means A Lot!

Thank you to the senior girls sunday school class of Second Baptist!

We received this really nice card from them and have posted it for all the officers to see it.

It is very appreciated!

This is one of the many reasons our men and women are proud to serve the citizens of Warner Robins!

Commitment, Dedication, & Service

Officers never know what situations they may face during their tour of duty.

Routine patrols can turn chaotic in a second and demand they make split second decisions to save lives.  Once such instance occurred last month.

Below is a letter of commendation from a patrol Lieutenant that describes the dedication of our officers and their commitment to serve.

"On 5/18/13 Sergeant Tim Gray and several officers were on the scene at Jus One More clearing the parking lot.  While clearing the crowd they were advised of a fight breaking out behind the businesses.  Officers entered the area of the fight and discovered two stabbing victims and an extremely chaotic scene.  One stabbing victim was bleeding profusely from a stab wound to the femoral artery.  The other had a puncture wound to his upper back.

While Lieutenant Jeff McCommon, Sergeant Gray, Officer Kirk Lowry, Officer David Adriance, and Officer Nick Taylor located and detained the offender of the assault, Officer Earl Nelson provided lifesaving first aid to one of the victims.

Using his medical training, Officer Nelson triaged the wounds and determined that the arterial wound was the most severe.  He then expertly applied a combat tourniquet to stop the arterial bleeding and stabilized the victim for transport.  It is my firm belief that Officer Nelson's actions saved a life that night.

I am very proud of the actions of the officers and the supervisors at this incident.  They secured the scene, arrested the offender, and saved at least one life that night.  It proves to me that Warner Robins Police Officers are not just out to make arrests, but are truly here to serve and protect the citizens of our city.

Again, I would like to offer commendations to all of the officers and supervisors who worked together as a team to ensure a successful outcome at this event."

Officer Helps Educate Family About Child Safety Restraints

Another great story about one of our officers serving our community!

"Regarding a recent request for a report during a traffic incident (fender-bender), I would like to inform you on how your Officer David Hale responded.

Officer Hale was very professional and very informative to our family.  Although we considered our approach to protecting our 16 month old son in a car seat generally secure, Office Hale offered more information concerning our baby's protection.

He adamantly demonstrated the proper methods to secure the car seat using the seat belt, and he explained why these techniques were important.  I was VERY appreciative of his informative demeanor.  We did learn that most of what he told us was probably included in the instructions for the car seat, but who reads instructions for car seats……:):)

He also informed us on general information about purchasing car seats and accessories.    This was a very impressive experience.  Again, thank you Officer Hale!"

Officers Help Couple Who Came Home To A Not So Pleasant Surprise

We always appreciate positive feedback!  We received this very kind email yesterday about Officer Adam Mitchell and the rest of the Squad 3 patrol officers.

"When my wife and I returned home from celebrating our one-year anniversary, we found three police cars in front of our home. An intruder, who had been arrested shortly earlier at another location, had kicked open our door and taken several of our possessions.

Officer Mitchell, as well as the other officers on the scene whose names I unfortunately did not obtain, were very friendly, professional and helpful. They explained what happened to me and my wife and put our minds at ease.

We thank Officer Mitchell and his colleagues for their hard work keeping our town safe."

WR Officer Shares The Christmas Spirit

During the holiday shopping season the Warner Robins Police Department began deploying officers to walk through various stores to provide a police presence to help deter potential crime.

The Warner Robins Police Department is committed to providing a safe environment where people can live, work, and play.

A Facebook post from this past weekend reflected how much our officers care about their community and the people in it.

Here is an excerpt from the post:

“Came to Walmart with all 4 kids in the pouring rain to get milk and bead and some last minute things.  As I was getting a child settled in the buggy I was greeted by a WR police officer (Lieutenant Lance Watson) who gave me $50 in Walmart gifts cards.  He said this lady gave ten to him and didn’t know who to give them to and so he gave them to me.  God is good and so is the Christmas spirit.  It’s refereshing to know there are still good people in this world that God does answer prayer!!”

We are very proud of Lieutenant Watson for his kindness and professionalism.

Animal Control Officer Making A Positive Impact

Another officer making a positive impact!  Thank you for sharing your story with us!

"Officer Greg Langston is an amazing human being.  I wanted to let someone know how much we appreciate him.

On Saturday, our new little dog, Roxie, ran away from home.  We were very upset and concerned that she may have been picked up by someone who would not return her or that she might get hurt.  We spent all evening Saturday and All Day Sunday combing the neighborhood around the house and putting up flyers.

Monday, the shelter is closed to the public, but obviously, Greg was hard at work.  He passed our flyers hanging in the neighborhood while out on his lunch break.  When he saw them, he went back to the shelter and found our Roxie had been incarcerated.  He went out of his way to not just let us know she was there, but he brought her back to us at our house.

We would have been contacting the shelter tomorrow once it was open again,  but Greg spared us another afternoon of searching and worrying about our littlest family member.

We appreciate him and what he did for us."

Ridealongs Can Lead To New Adventures

We received a very nice commendation email.  We are very proud of our officers!

"I just wanted to commend Officer Darren Johnson. I participated in the ride a long program with Officer Johnson on 14 September.

Officer Johnson was very professional in the performance of his duties. I was very impressed with his actions and the way he handled the situations encountered.

I expressed that I was thinking about trying to join the Police Department when I retire from the Air Force in December and the outstanding professionalism and devotion shown by Officer Johnson has sealed the deal.

Once again, thank you to the Department for the opportunity to ride along and watch you in action. Very impressive."
