WRPD Traffic Officer Hale and Spokesperson Tabitha Pugh dropped by STARBASE Robins to speak with the kids about their jobs and answer questions about the police department.
The STARBASE Robins program is designed to reach underrepresented and underserved students in Georgia. It strives to peek students' interest in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). They provide students with a unique STEM curricula that includes hands-on activities in Physics, Chemistry, Technological advances, Engineering, and Mathematical operations.

Public Relations Group Takes On The Range
Officer Greg Martin with the WRPD Canine unit and his partner Ollie performed a demonstration that showcased their abilities in narcotics detection. Officer Martin gave background on the WRPD Canine program and took questions from the group.
Officer Kirk Lowry gave the group an inside look at the many tools that are used by the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team. The ladies also had the opportunity to shoot many of the gun used by the officers. Officer Martin and Officer Lowry instructed the group about how to handle loaded weapons and what each one was used for. It turns out PR ladies can shoot very well!
Agencies represented at the meeting where the City of Macon, Robins Air Force Base, the Health Department, Warner Robins Police Department, Warner Robins Fire Department, Georgia National Fair, Houston Heath Care, and Middle Georgia Technical College.
