Event: Operation Safe Streets Kick-off
To kick off the Middle Georgia Traffic Enforcement Network’s Zero Tolerance campaign, the Warner Robins Police Department will be focusing on motorists who run red traffic signals the week of December 3, 2017.
Our hope is to decrease the amount of red light runners in the main thoroughfares of our city.
Following our traffic signal initiative, the Warner Robins Police Department will be out in full force Friday, December 8, 2017 in an effort to deter and reduce the number of impaired drivers. It’s an initiative the department has deemed Operation Safe Streets.
We will have several safety checkpoints set up in town, as well as officers stationed around each check point.
Our efforts are in connection with the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety’s push to make the streets safer this holiday season. According to the Georgia Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, 1,430 people died on Georgia’s roads in 2015, 266 more than the year before, an increase of 22.8%.
