WRPD Awarded Grant for Canine Camera

On August 14th members of Tactical Electronics awarded the Warner Robins Police Department with a K-9 Back Mounted Video Camera System. The system was awarded through a grant submitted by the Warner Robins Police Department in June 2012 to National Tactical Officers Association.

The camera system has a built in mini DVR that records audio and video.  The handler is equipped with a mobile viewing screen that attaches to their wrist for real time viewing.  The camera also includes an IR flood illuminator for low light environments.  The system is valued at $8,000.00.

K-9 Ego was fitted with the system and tested out the equipment.  The Warner Robins Police Department is only one of eight agencies in the United States to be fitted with this system.
