Great Work By WRPD Squad 2 & Criminal Investigations Division!

On Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 3:57 A.M. officers of the Warner Robins Police Department responded to 87 Gawin Drive (Sunoco) in reference a business alarm.

Upon arrival officers discovered where an unknown person had attempted to break the glass on the front door. 

At approximately 4:46 A.M. Lieutenant Don Edwards was checking the building at 915 Lake Joy Road (Jump In Shell Station) when he found the glass on the front door broken.  Before arriving at the store, Lieutenant Edwards observed a car leaving the area.  Other responding officers found the car and the driver was identified as Robert Lewis Walton (53 years old, Warner Robins).

Walton was taken to the Warner Robins Law Enforcement Center where he was interviewed by Detective Meredith Edwards. 

He was later charged with Burglary in connection with 915 Lake Joy Road (Jump In Shell Station) and Criminal Attempt to Commit Burglary in connection with 87 Gawin Drive (Sunoco.)

Walton was transported to the Houston County Jail. 

The investigation is ongoing.
