What To Know About the New Fireworks Law

In reference to HB 110, or the new fireworks law, we think it’s important to let our residents know how this affects Warner Robins and the rest of the state.

As of July 1, 2015 it is legal to shoot fireworks between the hours of 10AM and midnight everyday. On July 3rd, July 4th, December 31st and January 1st the curfew extends from midnight to 2AM.

Fireworks may not be discharged within 100 yards of a nuclear plant or a business which sells or refines gasoline products. Also, fireworks may not be discharged indoors or near schools.

Also it’s important to note that the new state law preempts local city ordinances, which means that the new fireworks law overrides the city’s noise ordinance.

Unless fireworks are being discharged within the areas mentioned above or after midnight everyday of the year (2AM on July 3rd, July 4th, December 31st or January 1st) we cannot prevent people from shooting off fireworks during the allowed time frame.

Please remember to use caution and stay safe this holiday weekend.
