Man Arrested for Hit and Run Involving a Bicycle

Date/Time: September 15, 2015/ approximately 6:55AM
Location: 100 block of Briarwood Drive

At approximately 6:55 AM on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 officers responded to the 100 block of Briarwood Drive in reference to a vehicle versus bicyclist accident. 

Upon arrival officers found a 15 year old male had been hit by a car while riding a bicycle. The motorists fled the scene. The child was taken to Navicent Health in stable condition. 

Officers were later able to locate the abandoned vehicle, which sustained heavy damage to the front windshield, involved at an apartment complex off of North Lake Drive. 

26 year old Joshua Lewis Burham of Fairburn, Georgia was arrested and will be charged with Serious Injury by Motor Vehicle (Felony), Hit and Run, Failure to Report Accident with Injuries, Reckless Driving, Failure to Render Aid, Driving with Suspended License, No Insurance, two counts of Violation of Georgia Controlled Substance Act Possession of Schedule I Narcotic (Felony), and Obstruction.
