Police Search Motive for Shooting Involving Teen

Location: 200 block of Franklin Square

UPDATE: Officers have a suspect in custody. He is described as a 13 year old white male, his name is being withheld because he is a minor. The suspect is currently being held in the Crisp County Youth Detention Center. 

He is being charged with Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm by Underage Person, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime, and Possession of Prescription Pills-Original Container Required. The motive for the shooting is still under investigation. 

The victim, 16 year old Ryan Skeen, sustained a gunshot wound to the neck area and is currently in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit at the Medical Center Navicent Health in Macon. 

Officers responded to reports of shots fired on the 200 block of Franklin Square at approximately 4:38PM on October 26, 2015.

Upon arrival officers determined that one juvenile male had been shot and the suspect fled the scene. The juvenile was taken to Navicent Health in critical condition. 

Officers canvassed the neighborhood and surrounding areas. They also conducted a K9 track. It is still very early in our investigation and detectives are still interviewing witnesses. 

To protect the integrity of the investigation, at this time no other information will be released.
