Incident: Animal Control Inquiry
UPDATE: This afternoon at approximately 4:30PM Animal Control Officers responded to a residence on the 100 block of Little John Lane. When they arrived they found a house that had become vacant as of yesterday, because their tenants were evicted. However, their pets were left behind. Animal Control Officers took 17 cats and 4 dogs from inside of the house.

On Friday, October 20, 2017 22 dogs were euthanized. Of those, ten were considered ineligible for adoption, and classified as vicious animals. Five were sick due to being infected with Kennel Cough.
On Friday, October 20, 2017 39 cats were euthanized. Of those, 38 were feral and ineligible for adoption. One was sick and ineligible for adoption.
The Warner Robins Animal Control is tasked with controlling the stray animals in our city, unfortunately euthanasia is a needed weekly practice at our facility in order to keep up with the intake of stray animals. However, at the time of the euthanasia on Friday, October 20, 2017 it had been almost two weeks since the last time animals were euthanized.
The Warner Robins Animal Control houses stray animals from Centerville, Houston County, Robins Air Force Base and Warner Robins. Animals are kept a minimum of seven days. Our department makes every effort to get the animals adopted or rescued by rescue groups. In fact, in 2016 our department brought in 2,494 animals. 408 were reclaimed by their owners. 342 were taken by rescue groups and 276 were adopted.
At this time 61 dogs and 26 cats are currently available for adoption at the Warner Robins Animal Control.
