SWAT Robot Leads To Arrest on Jana Court

Officers arrested 41 year old Robert G. Pope and charged him with Aggravated Assault.

At approximately 6PM on Saturday, July 2, 2016 paramedics responded to a home on the 100 block of Jana Court in reference to an intoxicated male. When they arrived Pope pointed a gun at the paramedics and for their safety they notified officers then left the area.

When officers arrived on scene they heard a gunshot coming from the house. After numerous attempts to make contact with the subject inside were unsuccessful the SWAT team was called out.

SWAT surrounded the home and deployed a robot into the home. The robot was able to locate the subject inside of the home safely. 41 year old Robert G. Pope was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Assault.

No one else was in the home at the time and no one was injured.
