Release date: December 8, 2016
Event: Operation Safe Streets
Date/Time: Friday, December 9, 2016 7PM-4AM
To kick off the Middle Georgia Traffic Enforcement Network’s Zero Tolerance campaign, the Warner Robins Police Department will be out in full force Friday, December 9, 2016 in an effort to deter and reduce the number of impaired drivers. It’s an initiative the department has deemed Operation Safe Streets.
We will have several safety checkpoints set up in town, as well as officers stationed around each check point.
Our efforts are in connection with the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety’s push to make the streets safer this holiday season. According to the Georgia Department of Transportation, 1,427 people died on Georgia’s roads in 2015, 257 more than the year before, an increase of 22%.
