WRPD Seeking Robbery Suspect

On Friday, December 13, 2013 at 8:00 P.M. officers of the Warner Robins Police Department responded to 823 North Houston Road in reference to a robbery.

Preliminary investigation revealed a male entered the store, took money out of the cash register, and then ran out of the store.

An undisclosed amount of money was taken.  No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a black male, medium build, approximately 6’01” to 6’02” in height, wearing a black hoodie and dark pants.

Warner Robins Christmas Parade Traffic Information


The Warner Robins Police Department will be providing traffic management for the 2013 Warner Robins Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 7, 2013.

In an effort to provide a safe and enjoyable atmosphere, the following traffic enforcement will be in place for the event:

Road Closures:

9:30 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. :
Watson Boulevard from Corder Road to North 6th Street will be closed.


Detour Locations:

9:30 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. :
Traffic approaching the intersection Watson Boulevard and Corder Road will be rerouted South on Corder Road.

Traffic approaching the intersection of Watson Boulevard and North 6th Street will be rerouted North on North 6th Street.

Please note that vehicles will not be allowed access to the parade route during the hours of 9:30 A.M. to 12:00P.M.

Detour routes will be clearly marked.


Public Information Officer Tabitha Pugh will be live tweeting traffic and event information beginning at 9 A.M.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Road Closures Due to Flooding

UPDATE:  All roadways are back open.  Call 911 if you see any other flooded roadways.  Use caution when driving.

ROAD CLOSURES

The following roads are closed due to flooding.  Please avoid these areas and choose an alternate route.

Green Street from Myrtle Street to Highway 247

Spruce Street from Oak Street to Corder Road

Armed Forces Boulevard from Watson Boulevard to Martin Luther King, Jr, Boulevard

Walnut Street

Elberta Road from Northside Drive to King Drive

Be sure to avoid any road with standing water including low lying areas and ditches.  Please remind you children to avoid theses areas as well.

Scenes From The WR Independence Day Celebration


Despite the cancellation we had a good time at the 31st Annual Warner Robins Independence Day Celebration.  

Several law enforcement agencies and emergency management personnel  agencies came together to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for the event.

Traffic Advisory For Warner Robins Law Enforcement Center Ribbon Cutting Ceremony



The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Warner Robins Law Enforcement Center will be held tomorrow.  Here are a few traffic advisories to be aware of:

10:00 A.M. - 11:15 A.M.: 
    North Armed Forces Boulevard (Formerly N 1st Street) is  closed to all traffic.

A pedestrian crosswalk will be located on a section of Watson Boulevard in front of the Law Enforcement Center. 

Traffic control will be in place at these areas.  

Please use caution when driving in this area.

Physical Agility Test



The Physical Agility test is the first phase of the department's hiring process.  On the day of the test, all applicants will report to the Warner Robins Police Department Training Center no later than 8:45 a.m. 

Applicants must have submitted their testing scores to the City of Warner Robins Human Resources Department and sign the waiver before the testing date. 

2013 Testing Dates

  • January 18
  • March 1
  • April 12
  • May 24
  • July 12
  • August 16
  • September 27
  • November 8
  • December 13

All applicants must successfully complete the course in the maximum allotted time of 56 seconds.  Failing to negotiate any obstacle or crossing the finish line without all issued equipment will constitute failing.

A written test is administered to those who pass the physical test directly after the agility course.  Those who pass the written test will receive a background package and continue on in the hiring process.

Next Virtual Ride-Along Set


You are invited to patrol the streets with an officer from the Warner Robins Police Department - via Twitter!

The Warner Robins Police Department is holding their second Virtual Ride-Along via Twitter on Thursday, January 17th from 8:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M.

Public Information Officer Tabitha Pugh will be riding with a patrol officer tweeting calls for service, arrests, and anything else the officer encounters during the shift.  Some tweets include pictures to give the viewer a more visual experience.

The Virtual Ride-Along is designed to give the community a glimpse into the daily life of a police officer patrolling the streets of Warner Robins.  Citizens can view the ride-along by following @WarnerRobinsPD on Twitter.

PIO Pugh and the officer will be taking questions during the ride-along from Twitter users who mention@WarnerRobinsPD in their tweet.  They will answer questions as time permits.
