August 2012 Snapshot

August was a busy month for the Warner Robins Police Department.  Here is a look back at a few of the major statistics and events:

Two Arrests Made In Crestwood Terrace Homicide Incident
August 2nd - Officers responded to the 900-block of Crestwood Terrace in reference to a male with a gunshot wound.  The victim later died in the hospital.  Tyrone Lamark Davis and Bobby Jermel Releford were were arrested and charged with Felony Murder in connection with the incident on August 8th.


WRPD Canine Unit Awarded Grant For K9 Camera
A Tactical Electronics K-9 Back Mounted Camera was awarded to the Warner Robins Police Department in August through a grant submitted to the SPA-National Tactical Officers Association Grant Program.  The camera mounts to the back of the canine and allows the handler to view real-time video on a wrist mounted monitor, while the K-9 searches the area.


WR Police Assist In Capturing Burglary Suspect
August 28th - Officers responded to Redbud Circle to assist deputies of the Houston County Sheriff's Office with an armed burglary in progress.  Two Warner Robins Police Officers apprehended the suspect after a thorough search of the area.


SWAT Callout
August 29th - The WRPD Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) responded to McArthur Boulevard in reference to a barricaded male threatening to harm police officers.  The male was able to get into his vehicle before the SWAT team had time to deploy.  The male was apprehended in the Houston Medical Center parking lot.


Homicide Investigation
August 30th - Officers responded to 101 Woodcrest Circle in reference to a male with a gunshot wound.  Preliminary investigation revealed two black males forced the door open and shot the victim multiple times.  The victim later died at the hospital.  Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Detective Mann at 478-929-6909 or through TipSubmit.
